It all started when…
Totes for Ta-Ta’s was started in 2014, by Sharyl Nuske and Jenna Buffington, one short year after their mom and grandmother, Joanne Stewart, gained her angel wings after a battle with metastatic breast cancer.
After 5 years of coordinating Totes, Sharyl decided it was time to “stop and smell the roses,” and pass the baton! As soon as Sharyl announced that she would be stepping back, I KNEW that I was up for the task!
I know first hand how AMAZING Illinois CancerCare is, and had wanted to give back on a larger scale, but didn’t know quite how. After losing my husband in 2017 after 4 years of treatments, I knew I had the best friends, family, and overall support system a girl could ask for….why wouldn’t they support me in this adventure too?!
I am blessed to have had the opportunity to take on this challenge and can’t wait to see what the future brings for Totes for Ta-Ta’s! ~Stacie Mac
